Description

In the spring of 2009, a small group of committed volunteers created the Haworth Road Runners’ Association (HRRA) with the dream of bringing a 5K race back to Haworth. They wanted Haworth, with its picturesque streets, small hometown feel, and vibrant community spirit, to be the star of this 3.1-mile journey. And in the process of showcasing this small enclave nestled in northern Bergen County, they wanted to give back to the very same community that enriches and protects the lives of its residents and the surrounding communities.

Unfortunately, the COVID-19 Pandemic, has upended many beloved traditions, and the Haworth Run is no exception.  While we will miss our annual September morning gathering, the HRRA is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a Virtual 5K/10K/Marathon Challenge. Participants will be able to choose a race length (5K, 10K or Marathon Challenge) to be completed over a two-week period (September 13th - September 26, 2020) with proceeds to benefit Haworth and other community Heroes. 

How does this work?  

The key is flexibility – the Haworth Virtual Run can be run (or walked or jogged) from any location you choose – on the road, the trail, treadmill, or track. You choose your distance, run at your own pace, and time it yourself. When you register we will email you a bib that you can wear when you participate. When you’ve completed your distance, submit your time (and hopefully a picture of yourself wearing your bib) and we will send you a completion certificate and thank you gift.

What’s the Marathon Challenge?

Ever thought about running a marathon but just didn’t think you could pull it off? Then sign up for our virtual Marathon Challenge! You have 2 weeks to complete 26.2 miles. For example, you can run 2 miles one day, 4 miles the next day, 3 miles the next day, and so on, until you reach 26.2 miles. After you complete your daily run, you can log your mileage and time. When you’ve completed the challenge, we’ll send you the completion certificate and our thank you gift.
